We have begun our ninth year of ownership of Valley Falls Farm. We are very aware that this property is one of the most scenic vistas in Vernon – and the old structures on the property, as well as the grounds, are very much a part of this pastoral scene. But old buildings and open lands require continuing TLC. Four years ago we initiated a Special Building Fund Appeal, with a goal of $30,000. Please consider an additional contribution to this special appeal!
We continue to pursue and receive grant funds to accomplish our work. This spring we started work on a $40,700 grant from DEP to make improvements to the Braille Trail in the Park. Your contributions help meet the matching requirements for these grants. Last August, we held an exciting and successful “en plein air” fund raising event - “Artists’ Day at the Farm”. We plan to make this an annual event. The 2009 date is August 23rd – save the date!
