The Friends of Valley Falls, Inc. is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) all volunteer organization. Organized in 1972, the FVF’s mission is to promote the betterment of Valley Falls Park and Valley Falls Farm. The area is considered the most scenic in Vernon, and is known as “Vernon’s Jewel”. It has a rich historical background, and is a popular recreational site.

Valley Falls Farm and Heritage Center, a 7-acre property at the corner of Bolton Road and Valley Falls Road in Vernon, is owned by the Friends. The property includes an historic 1850s farmhouse and 6 farm outbuildings which are part of a museum called The  Heritage Center. Valley Falls Park is a 196-acre public recreation area that is owned by the Town of Vernon. It is located on Valley Falls Road, directly across from Valley Falls Farm.

THE HERITAGE CENTER at Valley Falls Farm is open for a second season!  The historic stable, piggery, cold cellar, dairy barn and manure shed are open to tour every Sunday afternoon in July and August, from 1-4 pm.   A rich variety of “found” items and interpretive panels tell the story of families and times at the Farm in the early 20th century.

Bring your family for a fun and informative Sunday afternoon, 1-4 pm,  featuring special presentations, a docent guided tour at 2 PM, or self-guided walking tour at your leisure.  345 Valley Falls Road in Vernon, CT.  Begin at the “Welcome Table” in the basement of the RED BARN.  Limited parking is available at the Red Barn.
