The Friends of Valley Falls, Inc. is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) all volunteer organization. Organized in 1972, the FVF’s mission is to promote the betterment of Valley Falls Park and Valley Falls Farm. The area is considered the most scenic in Vernon, and is known as “Vernon’s Jewel”. It has a rich historical background, and is a popular recreational site.
Valley Falls Farm and Heritage Center, a 7-acre property at the corner of Bolton Road and Valley Falls Road in Vernon, is owned by the Friends. The property includes an historic 1850s farmhouse and 6 farm outbuildings which are part of a museum called The Heritage Center. Valley Falls Park is a 196-acre public recreation area that is owned by the Town of Vernon. It is located on Valley Falls Road, directly across from Valley Falls Farm.

VALLEY FALLS FARM AND HERITAGE CENTER OPEN on alternate Sunday afternoons, July 13 and 27, August 10 and 24, Sept. 7 and 21, Oct. 5 and 19, from 1-4 pm. Free Admission! Buildings will be open for self-tours during open afternoons, docent-led one hour tours are offered at 2pm. The Heritage Center served as a Gentleman’s Farm at the turn of the 20th century. It includes an elegant stable and unique farm buildings filled with “found” items and interpretive panels and displays telling the story of Valley Falls Farm and the people who lived here. Please park at the Red Barn Welcome Center, pick up a walking-tour guide in the basement of the barn, and enjoy your stay!
